Anime Utahime Episode 33 - WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM?!

Direct download - MP3: http://animeutahime.com/AUepisode33.mp3

No AAC version this time. It’s not worth it. The MP3 version is 170 MEGABYTES and TWO-AND-A-HALF HOURS as it is. Beware, all those with small hard drives or slow internet connections.

Here we are, the last episode. It was recorded a little over two weeks ago, and took a long time to edit due to its sheer size and the intimidation/procrastination that came about from thinking of its sheer size. And yet despite all that, I still left a great many parts of the episode intact that I would normally have relegated to AUO!, half out of laziness and half to show you guys a bit of behind-the-scenes stuff in-show. Speaking of AUO! - yes, there will be one more episode of AUO! in the near future.

But anyway, here it is… Savor it, bitches.

Also, as we revealed in the episode, our new podcast will be called Robomiko. You can find the new website at http://robomiko.com/, and the new forum at http://robomiko.com/forum/. Remember, grammar and spelling will be heavily enforced. Iggy will ensure it. *evil grin* Planning, brainstorming and testing are still underway, so nothing is up on that website yet, but keep an eye out for us.

We’re Baaaaaack! - List of Updates

I’m sure you’re all excited to see the new look of the site, and the new episodes popping up in your podcast feed. We’re excited to be back. ^_^ But are you not sure if you’ve seen everything that’s new yet? Well, here’s a list of everything that’s been updated:

  • Request specials! Episode 28 and episode 29 - both created to both test out the capabilities of GarageBand and to catch up somewhat on the backlog of requests.
  • AU Reborn! Episode 30 - the true rebirth of the cast, with a new format and new co-host. Still working on sound quality, but hey, that’ll come real soon.
  • Enhanced episodes - starting with episode 28, those who are able to take advantage of AAC files (especially iPod owners) can now access a special feed with versions of episodes enhanced with chapters, artwork, and links.
  • New website theme - Not exactly a new layout, but it’s fresh on the eyes. And who can say no to our super cute new mascot, Miku Hatsune of Vocaloid 2?
  • Updated profiles - Go to the About the Hosts section to see our new profile blurbs!
  • PodcastAlley - The sidebar now sports a little PodcastAlley icon so that you can go and vote for AU every month. Soon we should have a Podcast Pickle icon too. ^^
  • New podcast! Episode 01 - That’s right, AU now has a spin-off show called AUO! (pronounce it “OW!”), which stands for Anime Utahime Outtakes! As you can probably guess, this show features collections of choice parts cut from regular AU episodes, from stupid jokes to unrelated, but still interesting tangents. If you like the way Iggy and I bounce off of each other, you’ll probably like this show. ;) Subscribe via the RSS link in the sidebar.

Six requests dealt with here, and six will be dealt with next episode too! Two apologies, though: 1) sorry, I accidentally put in the TV size version of “Lilium” instead of the full version, and I was too lazy to go back and correct this; 2) I couldn’t find the real version of “Juuni Genmukyoku,” so today we’ll have the piano version instead.

PODCAST ON TEMPORARY HIATUS

Until further notice, Anime Utahime will be taking an official hiatus. I’ve been having a lot of qualms lately about the technical audio quality and the content of the shows, and I think I need to do some re-working and experimenting to make those things better.

On the technical side, I’d like to either buy new or alter existing equipment, figure out a better way to post-process my audio, and make it so that the volume from episode to episode is louder and more consistent.

On the content side, I’d like to seriously decide whether the upcoming releases segment is worth keeping (and if it is, how to make it more interesting/relevant), rearrange/drop/add other segments, and see about maybe getting an actual co-host that will be in most new episodes (possibly Iggy? one of the Dai-casters? a forum denizen? not sure).
